
Five national teams are favorite to win the title in France
The 2019 World Cup in France is just around the corner. Football fanatics will be able to enjoy this sport with the best female teams of history. This will be the eighth edition of this competition and the first to be held in France.
“Dare to shine” is the official theme of this year’s tournament which takes place from June 7 to July 7 in France. A total number of 24 teams are competing.
Throughout World Cup history, many countries have earned their way through the favorites. The following are the most likely to win the championship according to statistics.
United States
The United States won the last tournament in Canada 2015 and became the best team in the World Cup History with a total of 3 victories. The team has been ranked as the top favorite to take the trophy home.
Despite their success and rising fame, USA players claim that they are being discriminated against for being women in football. In March 2019, they denounced the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) due to low pay and the lack of support in training, traveling and competing.

Japan
Japan won the World Cup in 2011 and reached the finals in 2015, but lost to the United States. Under their captains’ leadership, Saki Kumagai, Mana Iwabuchi and Momiki, the Japanese team will strive for their second World Cup title.
The Japanese government and the Japanese Federation of Sports have invested money and resources in recent decades to promote the role of women in sports.
The 2008 Olympic Games were the first time in which Japanese women athlete won more medals than their fellow male competitors: an accountable 46 to 37.

France
The French team has some of the best football players in the world, who play in some of the best football clubs.
Olympique de Lyon is one of the most important French teams and the current winner of the Champions League. The team has the most players in the French national team, including Sarah Bouhaddi, Griedge Mbock Bathy, Amel Majri, Wendie Renard and Amandine Henry.
France was automatically qualified to play in the World Cup as the nation hosts this year’s tournament.

Germany
Germany has the second greatest number of wins after the United States: it counts with two victories in the World Cup of 2003 and 2007. The German team will compete in the same group as Spain, China, and South Africa.
Dzsenifer Marozsan is one of the team’s football stars. She won the Champions League playing with Olympique de Lyon and has been elected as the best player of the French league three consecutive times.
In May, the German team posted a video speaking out for women in football. They argued that even if their names were not as recognizable as the male football players, they would play to represent their country.
England
The English team was founded in 2009 and has since come a long way in different competitions, winning third place in the 2015 World Cup and reaching the semifinals in the 2017 Euro Cup.
In March, the team won the 2019 SheBelieves Cup, defeating the United States, Japan, and Brazil.
After a significant rise, the team is worthy of consideration for winning the World Cup this year. Former player Phill Neville is coaching the team.
